About Online AR Ruler

Our Mission

Online AR Ruler exists to give everyone access to accurate augmented reality measurement — without needing to install anything. We believe utility tools should be instant, free, and private.

What Makes This Different

Most AR measurement tools are standalone apps. They require storage space, Play Store downloads, and ongoing updates. Online AR Ruler runs in your browser using the WebXR standard. Open the page, grant camera permission, and measure.

For devices without ARCore, we provide a reference-calibration fallback that gives real-world measurements using just the camera — no depth sensor required.

Technology

The app is built on the WebXR Device API with hit-test support, Three.js for 3D rendering, and AstroJS for fast, SEO-friendly page delivery. All computation runs locally on your device. No backend, no server-side processing, no data collection.

Measurement Modes

• Length — multi-point polyline for walls, furniture, perimeters
• Area — polygon tap-to-measure with fill overlay
• Volume — 3-axis guided measurement for boxes, rooms
• Shapes — instant area/perimeter calculator for standard shapes

Privacy Commitment

Your camera feed is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. All processing is local. We do not track individual measurements or sessions beyond standard anonymised analytics.
